Resolutions-Schmezalutions

So far, I have one New Year's Resolution: set some resolutions. Aubrey and I haven't even begun to talk about last year's accomplishments let alone make a 2008 to-do list. I can say, though, that we did everything we wanted to do last year with only one exception. Not bad. We make fun of our yearly goals, but in reality it's one of the things I love so much about the New Year. It's also why I like Mondays (now that I'm not working). It's the beginning of something new (a new year, a new week) and the chance to do better. This year I want to learn a new skill. A lady at church is going to teach me to: do ribbon embroidery, crochet, knit and tat. Tatting is probably one of those things that I'll know how to do but never actually do. It's sooooo tedious and I have a limited attention span. It's why I don't cross-stitch anymore. I still have unfinished projects from the seventh grade. But, I digress. Learning a skill is a good goal. And, of course, there's that gigantuon goal I have every year: become a concert pianist and tour North America. But that's really less of a resolution and more of a life-long dream (kind of like finding my mirror), so maybe I'll just use 2008 to brush up on some theory. All in all, no matter what goals we set, 2008 is going to be an awesome year. But, seriously, with my good looks and personality, when is it ever not an awesome year? Check that...I just thought of some seriously horrible years. Let's rephrase: with a super-hottie husband and doll of a baby (plus my good looks, etc.), how can this year not be an awesome...more like supercalifragilisticexpealidocious...year? Hope all yours are the same.

My great grandmother could tat. I wanted to learn until I watched her doing it...my goodness that stuff takes forever to do! But she did make some very beautiful keepsakes, that is for sure!

haha... you always crack me up! Learning a new skill is definitely a good goal. There are so many skills that I would love to learn. I really want to learn how to sew (so when I need to make clothes or dresses modest, I can just do it myself!), and I would love to learn how to play the piano. It's been hard to do much of anything lately because it seems Taylor always wants to be right in my lap!
