Too much of a good swing isn't always good

Many years ago, Aubrey bought me a swing for my birthday. I absolutely love it! Olivia loves it too, and when she's having an unusually fussy day or won't go to sleep, we can always count on the swing to calm her down. I like to just sit outside and read or pet the dogs with my feet (so my hands don't get dirty). Aye, but here's the rub. Swinging makes me sick. Yes, that's right. For the same reason I can't ride roller coasters, ride in the back seat of a car or ride my bike with my eyes closed I cannot swing for very long. I get queezy and my head starts to pound. I also get extremely sleepy. So, here I am, just in from a little swinging with a totally hyped-up girl counting the minutes until she takes a nap and I can take one with her. Was it even worth it? Heck ya!

I am with ya on the dizzy thing. Although, I can swing and not get too dizzy. Does jumping on the tramp make your brain rattle? So, since when do people ride their bikes with their eyes closed?! :)

You are so weird sometimes! I agree on the rollercoaster and sometimes on the back seat (depending on who's driving!) but the swing (unless it's a tire swing) I'm missing!

I am for the first time ever quite thankful for not getting motion sickness. On the swing? Oh I feel for you, there is nothing so exhilirating as riding a coaster & just closing your eyes & feeling the motion & wind. It is mindblowing! I also have to agree on the fun of a swing. I love to get outside sit in a swing with a pillow and read or sit cross legged & sketch. Oh how I pine for summer days....

I remember going to see "The Wizard of Oz" with you at Sundance (up Provo Canyon) and you threw up because you got car sick. This was a long time ago when we were very young. I guess some things never change!

Oh, I am so with you on motion sickness! I can't swing, either! I mean, I can for a little while, but same thing - dizzy and vomitous.

And it's sad, because I LOVE to swing.

*sigh*

If we ever have a baby, I'm not sure I'll survive pregnancy with my motion sickness.
