Big Bang, You Ain't No Thang

Was anybody else relieved to wake up and not be in a big black hole this morning? Everyone around the world told those silly scientists they would implode the earth if they ran their particle smasher beam thing. But they ran that "abomination" anyway. I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't wake up last Tuesday or something. Scientists are super excited about it because it takes them closer to explaining how the universe was formed. I, too, am very curious. Of course I believe in Creation, and I don't believe that something came of nothing, and I don't believe the Big Bang, as outlined by science. I do, however, wonder if this can tell us how God used the elements during creation. I'm not expecting it to prove anything to me (I do not use science to verify my religion) but it could certainly give some props. It's all very intriguing, though I don't pretend to understand science beyond biology and basic chemistry. Physics has entirely too much math and I am in awe of anyone who's an expert in it. I'm duly impressed that they built a machine to blow up atoms, but I'm also still impressed with nuclear energy and microwaves. Here's hoping subsequent tests at full power (they hope to ultimately form new particles) yield the same results: more clues to the universe and me waking up in the same bed on the right day.

I thought we were supposed to worry when they started smashing them together?

My question is: If they recreate the universe, which rapidly expanded the first time this happened, then how do they think they can contain it six miles below Geneva? Spray it with "Stop'Verse"?

I liked how they said the earth could implode on itself within 50 months if this thing goes wrong. So just long enough for every one to go totally nutso waiting for their deaths.

*sigh*

I just keep thinking "Tower of Babel."

Everyone at my school were hoping that the world WOULD blow up, just so we didn't have to go back. This is the craziest thing ever. I heard they just blew up themselves

Ok, I must need to watch the news or read the paper more, because I had no idea about all of that. Pretty crazy stuff though.

I agree with Rachael... if she invents 'stop verse' will she will a nobel peace prize for keeping everyone from going nutzo....
