I'm excited! Mike watched it and said dun dun dummmm and Izzy repeated... I'm with Kristin, what's with the tree... I realize I haven't read them in a while but not really remembering that part!
I just hope the movie's not a let down. I'm already too mad about her not finishing Midnight Sun!
BTW, I don't know what you guys are talking about, of course, but Bunco is AWESOME. We have a group in Hoover and Oak Mtn. has a group. We love it. We play once a month and everyone brings a $10 gift. Then we draw names from our score cards to see who chooses first, and so on. We have also done "service gifts" for each other. We have dinner and get to have a fun girls only night with a little fun competition! You should try it some time.
Well, I don't think we can expect an play-by-play of the book. It's hard to translate somethings on screen. I think they're probably using the tree to illustrate how incredibly Edward can move. The rest of the trailer looks right on, except I don't remember a black vampire chasing them. Must be for the ACLU.
In the book Laurent was definitely not white in his previous life. They say he had an olive complexion or something like that. I guess he could have been black. I agree with Cheyenne on the tree part. When is the move ever as good as the book? I think I may go read it again. I've not read anything in a week or so.
Yeah. I was expecting something like Harry Potter. They of course took lots of stuff out of the movie but kept the story line right on. But they even added something in the movie about someone "being attacked by an animal." I guess implying James and them attacked someone. It just seems like they changed a bunch of the story. Oh well. I'm sure it will be good!
I can't wait. I will be at the Midnight show. That is if it isn't sold out. When the last book came out here in Utah they said the lines at wal-mart were all the way to the back of the store. It will be crazy, but soooo fun.
wow i hadn't seen that preview yet. others. but not that one. i am so excited. brent hates it when twilight books (and now movies) come out b/c he thinks he has to be more romantic. he's so right.
Thanks Cheyenne! I actually love this preview. As for the changes, Stephenie Meyer said in some interviews that the tree scenes really are more understood after reading Breaking Dawn, but that they would have been illustrated in Twilight in the sense of how Edward can move & the heights & strengths they have. As for the animal/attack reference, Catherine Hardwicke (the director) said they needed to introduce the Nomads a little earlier in the movie because translation from the book is impossible to do since the thoughts of them are in Bella's head after Edward warns her that there are things worse than his family in the woods. Harry Potter was easier to translate to film because it is told in a more omniscient point of view, this being a first person view adaptation had to be harder. But I understand that every interview Stephenie has done said she was thrilled with the 'adaptation' from book to screen. oh yeah, Laurent has always been French & black (per Stephenie's Q&A from before the movie was even a thought) You can tell I probably read too many articles on this series, but I mean who doesn't? :):):) I AM ECSTATIC TO SEE IT!! Thanks for posting the trailer!
Now that u r done with that sereies. Have u read The Host she wrote or the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins she suggested. I've read both. Beginnings are a struggle to keep going, but both books end well. Hunger Games however is a 3 book series with the 2 do out Next fall. Long wait. Never saw laurent as a black frenchman. Older white guy. oh well. Most teenagers and others I talk to here are not liking the movie trailers so far, but we r going together. Glad to see I'm not the only crazy person. And there are husbands out there who read it and like it, but not bella. My husband is of course like Aubrey and think we are crazy reading stories about vampires and aliens (The Host). If Yal have any more book suggestions let me know. Aloha and Mahalo from Hawaii.

Yeah, it looks like it's really going to be different than the book. What do you think? And what's the deal with them being in the tree????
I am so excited!
P.S. I think Bunco must be a Utah thing. It's just a dice game and you give away prizes to the winners and stuff. It's just a girl's night out.
