So, Hail TO the Chief, or Hail ON the Chief?

Before Homeland Security strikes me down, let me just say that I would personally never rain hail on anyone. I would pray to have it done. I only rain down the thunder and lightening of my wrath, hail-free.

I am, of course, devestated by the outcome of the presidential election (or as devistated as you can be about something like this). I don't trust the man any farter than I can throw my piano (and I can't even push my piano) and share virtually no values with him. That said, and being a ridiculous optomist, I am still hopeful for the next four years. At least he's not the anti-Christ. I mean, do you know how seriously evil he would have to be? I'm hoping that, as with all politicians, he can't do everything he says he wants to--because I disagree with almost everything he wants to do. I'm also hoping that he'll find success where others have failed: bridging the ever widening gap between political parties. I am so sick of the hateful rhetoric that goes on between the two. If you listened to some Republicans, you'd think Obama was The End of Days. If you listened to some Democrats, you'd think McCain would have us all implanted with computer chips in the name of the Patriot Act.

Get a grip on reality, people! Please! You're making me lose my grip on mine!

Oh, but I did want to add that, win or lose, it is really exciting to be part of this whole process. It was pretty cool watching the news channels and realizing that the anchors, presidential nominees and VP nominees all voted, too. Even the President votes. It's one thing that, no matter how poor or low profile you are, you get to be involved in as well. It's one of the few things that bridges the class lines these days.

My "politics" such as they are, are different from nearly everyones, but I totally agree with you that the gap between parties has to come together. It's way too ugly for anyone anymore. And while I do have a lot of different hopes for our future, I think one thing I would like to see most as one of Obama's legacies is having the two parties start to REALLY listen to one another, to not knock an idea just because it came from a "red" person or a "blue" person, and to really get us on track to working towards as common of a ground as you can get in a country this big, with so many different people with different ideas on how things should work. I mean, you can't please everyone all the time, but you can sure as hell try to make the country some place that they aren't afraid or ashamed to live in.

The end.

I like it Cheyenne, a BIT more calm then my rant but I love to rant... I"m much more calm now and am to trying to be more optimistic. On friend sees this as the modern day Gadiantion Robbers now having control... Mike says that they way the wealth will be taken out of the country will prepare all of us for the Law of Consectration.
I to am hoping for more understanding between the parties. I'm trying to be much more optimistic... it's much better then crying all the time about it. (but hail ON jackson and sharpton)

You are so right, Rachael. I think everyone is ready for something like that. Attitude reflects leadership for sure.

This totally does not have anything to do with your post but rather to your comment on mine. I AM TOTALLY ADDITICTED TO THE BOOK!!! I am a little more than half way through and I am already trying to budget the other three, If I can't work them into my budget I really hope the library has them in stock.

i really like your advice on your former post about finding out things for yourself. that's what the church says to do; don't think you always have to vote republican just because you're mormon. you'd be surprised how liberal some 'republicans' can be. i also agree--i hope obama succeeds in his vision of working together for the good of the country and not just R vs D. i don't think he's as bad as all that; of course, if my parents are right and he is the anti-Christ, then i stand corrected. all the same, good for you for being involved!
